To get the best leaves the growers at kratomleaf.us always pick the most mature and oldest leaf throughout the year. As the seasons change, so does the alkaloid content in the leaves. Leaves picked in the winter months tend to be stronger than those picked in the summer. During the winter the tropical trees are exposed to shorter days and drops in temperature which raises the trees defenses. This boost in defenses causes the trees to produce higher levels of alkaloids.
